It was a privilege and a pleasure to be the first people to rent the cabin. We were impressed with the quality of all the work you’ve done and how Paul went out of his was to accommodate our needs. Here’s hoping future renters of this cabin will enjoy it as much as we did. We hope to come back next year.

We had a great time. The cabin was beautiful and very comfortable. The beach was pleasant and not too crowded during the week.

Paul, glad you talked me into this place! It was very comfortable for our family. The Smore basket was a great touch. We enjoyed the campfire one night for supper and Smores and read aloud from the Campfire Companion book. Especially enjoyed the hilarious excerpt on pp. 13-15! Also a large coon was sighted numerous times! Took in the Drive-In Theater; something we adults remembered from the past but the teens had never experienced. We were able to get on the water many times in our boat. A vacation in Door County is all about water, water, water… Beautiful! We honeymooned here 23 years ago and have come every summer since.

The blank family had an amazing time. We laughed hard for many hours following the fish boil during catch phrase gaming. Your Log Cabin is a beautiful creation and it guarantees a wonderful stay.

Dear Larsens, What an amazing gift we were blest with by having been lead to this great spot for our family adventure. Your cabin is wonderful, your craftsmanship outstanding! Thank You… Thank You… for sharing this with us. Our hope is that we may be able to make this a yearly event. So if you get real popular, please let us know how far in advance to book with you. With much love and appreciation,

This is a list of Events some guests have enjoyed.

Our guest liked to eat at Village Café, Good Eggs, Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant, Sunset resort on Washington Island, Fred and Fuzzy’s, Trio, Mission Grille, Mr. Helsinkis, Inn at Kristofer’s, The Shoreline Restaurant, PC Junction, Katie Rose Provisions (check out the roast beef sandwich with wasabi mayo). We (Paul and Mert Larsen) enjoy the Greenwood Supper Club, Parkway, Mr. Gs, Glidden Lodge, Coyote Road House, PC Junction, and JJs. We like many more, but you kind of find your yearning trail so to speak.

Our guest liked to visit shops; their favorites are What Next? Blue Dolphin House, Domicile, Passtime Books, Chelsea Antiques, Blue Willow, Rugged Basics, Maxwell’s House, Best pie, Sarah’s Snack Shop, DC Nature Works.

Some of the things our guest liked to do, Cook on the outdoor grill and chill on the deck, read and listen to music on the deck, play botchy ball or horseshoes while listening to music from the deck, wash the boat while listening to music from the deck, read on the deck, party on the deck. Take Jacuzzi bath with bubbles and listen to the sound system.

Guest liked to walk to a restaurant and then return and have a campfire. Our campfire pit has an adjustable grill rack for real western cook outs.

Our guest liked to walk to the parks, shops, beach, marina, and restaurants. Some guest got up early and jogged. Other guest would walk to the bakery and coffee shops/get a newspaper and walk back to the cabin with goodies for the family. Many guests brought their bikes and used them at Peninsula State Park to enjoy their many trails. Biking right from our cabin is great, bike through the village and down to the Marina and then to Village Park Beach and then to Murphy’s Park/Beach. Some guest would go to Nicolet Bay Beach at Peninsula State Park for a picnic. Another fantastic park and beach is the Sand Dunes, huge hills of sand and fresh crisp water to swim in.

Guests enjoyed Fish Boils, we have them in all the villages, and some villages have two or three Fish Boil locations. Guest like the American Folklore Theater, we like Peninsula Players Theater/excellent; we love Birch Creek Music Festival, and also the performances at the Gibraltar Auditorium. We saw some great people at Gibraltar, Johnny Cash, Kathy Mattea, Pam Tillis, David Sandborne, and Judy Collins.

The best place to hike one guest says is The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor.

Sunsets are beautiful from Harbor View Park and the Sister Bay Marina says one of our guests, and she is right. I will say it won’t hurt to try the Top Deck at Gordon Lodge of Baileys Harbor. There are many Art Galleries and our July Guest had the opportunity to meet Artist R.D. Beutley.
